Feature Musicians

When singer songwriter Jim Broyles takes the stage, you are as likely to hear echoes of John Fahey in his finger picking style as you are to detect the dry humor of Leon Redbone or the sentimentality of John Gorka. With all the flavors of Americana that he loves, Jim tries very hard to find the ordinary, and then put "extra" in front of it.

Unencumbered by polished style, familiarity with the songwriters’ canon, or dedicated training on his instrument, Jack Keith simply writes and sings songs from the heart. Lyrical topics bluster through the seasonal garden of humanity – paradise lost and gained, harvested and sewn. He’s a day-job-keeper caught between folk and a hard place, bound for nowhere and really enjoying the ride. Jack will be joined on stage by members of Crazyhorse, The Mangy Old Dirt Dogs, and others.

Poet: Hilary DePolo, lyric and narrative poetry. Hilary DePolo is a published poet living and working in the Denver area. She will be reading from her latest body of work AUDUBON - poems based on the floor plan of the house where she was raised. Ms. DePolo is author of Character Sketches and Past Lives and has been a recipient of residencies from the Ucross Foundation and the Jentel Artist Residency. She works as a visual arts consultant. Hilary will be accompanied by James Boyce on Jazz guitar and Yolanda Bush on percussion.
