Call for Contributors

All community members are invited to participate in some way with the creation and ongoing production of Stage C. We welcome you to come, experience Stage C, first hand… get involved…tell your friends and neighbors!

ARTIST GUIDELINES
Please select pieces that are appropriate for an intergeneration audience, "G" rating: nonviolent and no graphic sexuality. Remember Stage C is celebratory, light and uplifting in nature. Anything along the themes of creativity, community, collaboration are encouraged, but not required. Please refrain from divisive political commentary and opinions. We are seeking to create an atmosphere of collaboration and connection, focusing on what unites us rather than what seems to separate us.

COMPENSATION
At this time no compensation is available for Stage C acts. However, we encourage you to bring your products (CD’s, books, etc.) to sell and we will make a table available for their display. It’s best if you can provide your own person to manage sales and distribution of your products.

CONTRIBUTOR CATEGORIES

Featured Musicians: We request that our featured musicians be comfortable with an open mic format and ready to move beyond that. You will be asked to prepare two 15-20 minute sets or one 30 minute set (depending on the venue), which follow the artist guidelines for all Stage C artists (see above). It's fun to include a sing along or two in your sets, but not required. Upon booking please send a photo (preferably in electronic format) and bio to the producer/host of the venue you are playing at. Amateur photographs are fine. Please submit a short 3-5 word description of your work or style along with your photo and bio.

Featured Musicians should plan to be available for a sound check and rehearsal approx. 2 hours before the show. Stage C provides sound equipment and a sound tech. Please let the venue producer/host know what your sound needs are at least 2 weeks prior to the show.

Poets: prepare a 7-10 minute set following the artist guidelines above. Please submit a short 3-5 word description of your work or style along with your photo and bio. If you would like a sound check or have a musician playing with you please arrange a sound check with your producer/host.

"Sage on Stage" Storytellers: prepare one 5-10 minute story, following the artist guidelines above. Please submit a short 3-5 word description of your work or style along with your photo and bio. We encourage stories with a bit of wisdom as well as humor.

Community Connections: Are you someone that is doing something of interest in the community? If so, we would like to feature you in a 10 minute interview during one of our shows. This benefits you and our audience by connecting and educating people about your product or service. We can include extra time for experiential activities related to your product/service and we can provide a table for information and products you want to distribute or sell at the show.

Interactivities: This segment is for people who are interested in facilitating activities that include the audience. Activities that engage the audience to connect with themselves and each other are ideal.

KidBits/TeenBits: One or two performance pieces by children or teens. Poetry, music, dance…whatever! Let us know of your ideas. About 5-10 minute slots.

Miscellaneous: Stage C can accommodate other acts as well. We have shown short films, for example. Certain venues can accommodate dance, juggling, positive comedy acts etc. If you have an act you are interested in presenting simply contact the producer/ host of your venue to see if it will be a fit (please read through the Artist Guidelines, first).

Non-performance opportunities: There are many ways you can get involved with Stage C. Producing/hosting shows, marketing, greeting people at shows, coordinating concessions, and sound tech are a few examples of the areas where various venues can use your enthusiastic collaboration and support!
